Founded by Julian P. Hobbs and Christopher Trent in 1998, Abject Films is dedicated to producing startling, innovative, and ground-breaking films.

The first Abject Films, Ltd. production was the 1999 documentary Collectors.

A buzz has started already about the controversial Collectors: Collectors has just been picked up by the acclaimed Canadian distributor representatives Film Transit for international sales.

Abject Films emphasizes quality, but retains a hand-crafted tone in every production. Based in New York City, Abject Films builds creative teams by drawing on talent from television and film industries as well as long-standing personal relationships.

Abject is currently working on its second feature: Email from Everest, an adventure documentary. Email from Everest traces the stunning last climb on Everest in the millennium and the online, international community that followed every step.

Abject Films is also developing a series of historical docu-dramas exploring heretics and visionaries from across the ages. The scope of this project is wide and the potential audience diverse.
